Splitting the chest of Muhammad (pbuh). (شَقُّ الصَّدْرِ):

Thus, even after the period of drinking milk had passed, the boy Prophet (ﷺ) continued to stay in the tribe of Banu Sa'ad. In the second phase, during his stay in the tribe of Banu Sa'ad, in the 4th or 5th year of his birth, the incident of splitting his chest took place. A detailed account of the incident is narrated in Sahih Muslim on the authority of Anas (RA). The matter is that one day when the boy Prophet (ﷺ) was playing sports with his companions, Gabriel (A.S.) came there. Then he took him a little distance and laid him down and cut open his chest and took out the heart. Then he took out some clotted blood from it and said, 'This is the part of the devil that was in you.' Then he placed the heart on a golden plate, washed it with the water of Yama, replaced it in its proper place and joined the severed parts together. At that time, his playmates ran and told his aunt Halimah that Muhammad (ﷺ) had been killed. Hearing this, Halimah and her husband got very anxious and disturbed and came there and noticed the look of dirtiness and distress on the face of the Prophet (ﷺ). In this condition, they brought him home and engaged in service. [2] Anas (RA) said, I saw the marks of that stitch on his chest.
