 Bahira Rahab

It is said that (the source of this narration is somewhat doubtful) when the Prophet (ï·º) was twelve years old (in another narration twelve years two months and ten days) he traveled with his uncle Abu Talib to the country of Sham (Syria) on business. At one point he went to Basra and appeared. Basra was a place belonging to the kingdom of Sham and the central city of Huran. At that time it was the capital of the Roman Empire in the Arabian Peninsula. A Christian priest (Rahab) named Zarzis lived in this city.

His title was Bahira and by this title he was known and famous to all. When the Meccan trading party encamped at Basra, Rahab came out of the church to them and entertained them with hospitality. But never before had he come out of the church and met any trade caravan. He saw the appearance, behavior and other characteristics of the young Prophet (ï·º) and realized that he was the last Prophet (ï·º) who was the emancipator of the liberation of the world.

Then he took the hand of the young Prophet (ï·º) and said, 'This is the ruler of the universe. Allah will choose him as the Messenger of mercy to the world.

Abu Talib and the people of Quraish said, 'How do you know that he will be the last Prophet?' Bahirah said, 'When your approach gradually came into view from that side of the mountain path, I saw that there was no such thing as a tree or a rock. which did not prostrate him. All these things never prostrate to anyone other than the Prophet-Messenger. Moreover, I recognized him by seeing the 'Seal of Prophethood'. Below his shoulder there is a scar in the shape of an apple next to the collarbone, which is the 'Seal of Prophethood'. We have come to know all this from our scriptures, the Bible.' Then he entertained them with hospitality.

Then Bahira said to Abu Talib, "Don't travel abroad again with him." Take it back home soon. Because, if its identity is known, Jews and Rumi can kill it.

After knowing this, Abu Talib arranged to send him back to Makkah along with some slaves.
